Angshuman Gooptu
Angshuman Gooptu is a senior economist in the AIR Health Division, primarily focusing on projects in the Evaluation, Methods, and Analytics program area. He is an applied economist with experience in quantitative research, program evaluation, and healthcare analytics. His areas of expertise include healthcare insurance access (Medicare and Medicaid policy); health care provider supply; disability insurance; and pharmaceutical markets—studying policies to regulate drug pricing, pharmacy benefit managers, and prescriptions for controlled substances.
Dr. Gooptu is experienced in leading data-driven implementation and evaluation projects for federal clients like Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), as well as state clients, such as the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. He has authored numerous client reports and peer-reviewed publications, and has given presentations to disseminate findings.
