Jing Dong

Senior Economist

Jing Dong is a senior health economist in the Health Division at AIR. She has over 15 years of experience studying health- and health system-related issues and has extensive training in using quasi-experimental designs (such as instrumental variable, difference in differences, and propensity score methods) to answer causal questions relevant to quality of care, service utilization, health outcomes, and health equity. Her research areas include health insurance, long-term care and aging, innovative payment models, and maternal health.  

Dr. Dong has played an important role in the design and implementation of quasi-experimental evaluations for domestic healthcare demonstrations for CMS and CMMI. Through these experiences, Dr. Dong has gained a deep understanding of Medicare and Medicaid’s payment and data systems, analytic procedures to calculate shared savings and evaluate programs, and the application of a wide range of advanced statistical tools.
