Lori Downing

Senior Researcher

Lori Downing is a senior researcher at AIR and has 15 years of experience leading and managing research programs and projects. Downing is currently project director of the Welcome Baby Study, an implementation and outcomes study of the Welcome Baby program, a light-touch maternal home visiting program that provides home visiting services to families in 13 underserved communities in Los Angeles County.

Downing is a qualitative methods expert with extensive experience in qualitative study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting and is versed in methods including key informant interviews, focus groups, cognitive interviews, and historical document review and analysis. She is also an expert in public reporting, leading a project for the California Office of the Patient Advocate focused on ensuring healthcare quality, cost, and patient experience data are understandable for consumers.
