American Institutes for Research Among Top Ranking in Disability Inclusion Benchmark for Second Consecutive Year
For the second consecutive year, the American Institutes for Research (AIR) has been recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work for People with Disabilities” by the Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities.
“At AIR, we are committed to ensuring that staff with disabilities have every opportunity to thrive,” said Karen Francis, AIR vice president and chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer. “AIR’s recognition is a testament of our longstanding journey toward diversity and our work to support inclusive employment policies and practices.”
The Disability Equity Index is a nationwide benchmarking tool that measures how businesses are advancing workplace inclusion and assessing areas of growth and improvement to make a positive impact. While this is the second year AIR participated in the assessment and ranked, this is the first time AIR achieved a 100 percent score, joining distinguished companies such as American Airlines, Booz Allen, and Kaiser Permanente that have demonstrated dedication to leading disability-inclusion practices. AIR’s growth and progress over the past year includes improving employment practices to attract and retain staff with disabilities, expanding awareness of internal communications and community engagement, and enhancing programs. AIR’s disability-focused employee resource group Access AIR plays an integral role in ensuring the institution remains committed to tenants of diversity, equity and inclusion while being inclusive and responsive to people with disabilities, their families, and the communities that AIR serves.
